Overture Medley
As you plan for your retirement dreams, Medley can provide the accumulation potential, protection and custom flexibility that you are looking for in a financial product.
Accumulation Potential Medley provides the opportunity to invest money in variable investment options managed by some of the top names in the mutual fund industry and any growth is tax-deferred, which can help you keep more of what you earn. Of course, like other variable annuities, Medley involves risk of loss, including principal.
The Features You Want Medley offers features that can help you plan for your retirement with confidence:
- Guaranteed Income. Only an annuity can provide an income that’s guaranteed to last as long as you live.
- Guaranteed Death Benefit. Your heirs will receive at least the amount you put into your annuity, if you die before you start taking an income (unless your policy includes a no withdrawal charge rider).
Any guarantees available as part of the variable annuity contract are subject to the claims-paying ability of Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. and do not apply to the investment performance of the underlying investment options available with this product.
Withdrawal charges are a percentage of each premium payment since receipt: year 1 - 8%, year 2 - 8%, year 3 - 8%, year 4 - 7%, year 5 - 7%, year 6 - 6%, year 7 - 5%, year 8 - 4%, year 9 - 2%, year 10 and beyond - 0%. Withdrawals of policy earnings are taxable and, if taken prior to age 59˝, a 10% penalty tax may also apply.
Custom Flexibility If your needs go beyond the annuity basics, Medley gives you the power to purchase features to meet your personal requirements. These options can protect your heirs if something unexpected should occur and give you access to your money if you need it. The best part is that with Medley you pay only for the features you choose. (Riders are optional, have an additional cost, and may not be available in all states.)
Protect Retirement Assets To help you achieve your retirement goals, one rider that's available is the Guaranteed Lifetime Withdrawal Benefit (GLWB) rider designed to:
- Protect your retirement assets from market downturns,
- Provide the potential for your assets to keep pace with inflation, and
- Eliminate the risk of outliving your retirement income by providing a guaranteed source of income for as long as you live–regardless of your policy value.
You only pay for this rider if you activate it. For more information, please refer to the GLWB Client Brochure and your product prospectus.
Low Cost Medley is a comprehensive, low-cost variable annuity with current expenses of just 0.85% annually (1.15% maximum) and no policy fee ($40 maximum). These lower expenses allow more of your money to work for you and can help you accumulate more. Keep in mind that investment options have their own costs.
Getting Started Medley is designed for people up to age 85 with a minimum premium of $25,000 but there are ways to get started with a lower initial investment. Your financial professional can help you decide if it is right for you.
